Communicative Competence at the Core
Our lessons are structured around the development of communicative competence, encompassing grammatical, sociolinguistic, discourse, and strategic competencies. In practice, this means students:
- Use English in context through structured dialogue, simulations, and interaction.
- Engage in meaning-focused output, using English to achieve real-world tasks (e.g., making a phone call, presenting a proposal, writing a report).
- Are encouraged to develop both fluency (speed and confidence) and accuracy (correctness of form) simultaneously.
Language is learned by using it, and every LinguaVo session provides a safe and supportive space to do exactly that.
Task-Based and Output-Driven Instruction
We center our classes around communicative tasks, goal-oriented language activities that mirror real-world use. These include:
- Problem-solving scenarios
- Role-plays and debates
- Job interview simulations
- Team projects and presentations
Tasks are carefully scaffolded to gradually build proficiency, moving learners from controlled practice to freer, spontaneous production. Each task includes pre-task planning, real-time language performance, and post-task reflection/feedback — a three—phases cycle shown in research to improve both competence and confidence.
